We decided to stroll around while eating<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Gohei-mochi of Magomejuku is dango shaped &amp; walnut miso<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/local-cuisine.maff.go.jp\/en\/recipe\/448\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Gohei-mochi (rice cakes)<\/a> are an indispensable part of the Kisoji area! Even in the same Kisoji area, the shape and taste differ from place to place,<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"908\" src=\"https:\/\/shimadablog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/2magotuma.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3147\" srcset=\"https:\/\/shimadablog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/2magotuma.jpg 800w, https:\/\/shimadablog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/2magotuma-600x681.jpg 600w, https:\/\/shimadablog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/2magotuma-264x300.jpg 264w, https:\/\/shimadablog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/2magotuma-768x872.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>The Magomejuku tradition is to serve rice cakes in the shape of dumplings with a walnut-based miso sauce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every restaurant had this style, and I felt a strong culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nagano&#8217;s local cuisine: Oyaki<\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"725\" src=\"https:\/\/shimadablog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/3magotuma.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/shimadablog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/3magotuma.jpg 800w, https:\/\/shimadablog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/3magotuma-600x544.jpg 600w, https:\/\/shimadablog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/3magotuma-300x272.jpg 300w, https:\/\/shimadablog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/3magotuma-768x696.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>We also had hot <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justonecookbook.com\/oyaki\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Oyaki.(Japanese Stuffed Dumplings)<\/a> There were many flavors to choose from, but today I chose red bean paste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fluffy dough and the slightly salty red bean paste were a perfect match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I have lived in Narai for 30 years, but I am not familiar with oyaki.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I was curious, so I looked it up and found that it is a local dish from the northern region of Nagano that gradually spread throughout the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p id=\"firstHeading\"><span style=\"font-size: 28px;\"><strong>Oyaki<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It originated in the Kitashin and Azumino regions of Nagano Prefecture, which are cold regions, and was passed down from household to household as a substitute for rice in the winter.\u57df\u306e\u540d\u7269\u3068\u3057\u3066\u5e83\u307e\u3063\u305f\u3002<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>\u9577\u91ce\u306e\u5357\u306e\u65b9\u306b\u4f4d\u7f6e\u3059\u308b\u6728\u66fd\u8def\u3067\u306f\u3001\u3084\u3063\u3071\u308a\u4e94\u5e73\u9905\u306e\u307b\u3046\u304c\u306a\u3058\u307f\u304c\u6df1\u3044\u306e\u304b\u306a\uff1f<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u98df\u5f8c\u306e\u30c7\u30b6\u30fc\u30c8\u306f\u4e2d\u6d25\u5ddd\u540d\u7269\u300c\u6817\u304d\u3093\u3068\u3093\u300d<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<div style=\"padding: 16px;\">\n\n<div style=\"display: flex; a sweet dumpling made with chestnuts, is well worth a try.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While kinton made of sweet potato is famous throughout Japan, chestnut kinton is the most popular type of kinton in Magomejuku.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"concept-box6\">\n<p>Magomejuku was originally located in Nagano Prefecture.<\/p>\n<p>During the Heisei Era merger, the former Yamaguchi Village merged with Nakatsugawa City in Gifu Prefecture, creating &#8220;Magome-juku in Nakatsugawa City, Gifu Prefecture&#8221;.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The waterfalls at Magome Pass healed me.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-2 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"750\" data-id=\"3155\" src=\"https:\/\/shimadablog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/DSC05940.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3155\" srcset=\"https:\/\/shimadablog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/DSC05940.jpg 500w, https:\/\/shimadablog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/DSC05940-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">\u7537\u6edd<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"750\" data-id=\"3156\" src=\"https:\/\/shimadablog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/DSC05941.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3156\" srcset=\"https:\/\/shimadablog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/DSC05941.jpg 500w, https:\/\/shimadablog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/DSC05941-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">\u5973\u6edd<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Having fully enjoyed Magomejuku, we headed for Tsumagojuku.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 801-meter-high Magome Pass, which separates Magome-juku from Tsumagojuku, is also full of attractions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The pass, which retains the appearance of the old Nakasendo Highway, is still popular among many people today as a trekking course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the attractions of Magome Pass is the O-fall and Me-fall waterfalls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The powerful sound of a waterfall whose volume has increased with the melting snow.
